Engaging multiple constituencies with opposite interests: lessons in adaptive leadership

Tom Powers (HKS, MC-MPA) will discuss leadership challenges in a case study about engaging multiple constituencies in creating new state environmental rules in an election year. Tom and Abby Yanow will highlight elements of the adaptive leadership framework in the case study.

Tom has served in a variety of positions including Senior Policy Advisor in EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation, President of the Boston Harbor Island Alliance, and the Commissioner of the MA Department of Environmental Protection. Abby is President of the Boston Facilitators Roundtable.
